In Aveiro, do not resist to taste the most typical sweet of our region, the Ovos Moles! With origin in the old Convent of Jesus of the Feminine Dominican Order, the recipe for ovos moles of Aveiro transposed walls, crossed generations and has reached our days.
Legend has it that a nun of the Convent of Jesus, being forced to fast because she was punished by the mother superior for having committed the sin of gluttony, decided to disobey, dedicating herself to the mixture of eggs with large amounts of sugar.
Having been caught in the act, she suddenly hid the mixture in the mass of the hosts on the table. The next day, it was felt that there was a miracle, because it appeared at the gate a sweet so perfect that it could only have been sent by God.
