Lose yourself through the narrow cobbled streets, Art Nouveau buildings and tile panels in the typical Beira-mar neighborhood with our experienced guides.
Explore our locals’ favorite places, best Aveiro’s food and learn about its rich history by finding out why are we the Portuguese capital of Art Nouveau and what does the famous marnoto do.
In this tour we visit, among others, the beautiful building of the Museum of Art Nouveau and others of its route, São Gonçalinho Chapel, Carcavelos Bridge, the narrow streets of the neighborhood and we finish with a tasting of our typical sweets in a place with more than a hundred years of experience doing the most genuine and famous “ovos moles”.

During this tour, we will pass through the idyllic canals of Aveiro where you can see the famous and traditional moliceiro boats. These colorful little boats were formerly used to transport salt and seaweed. We will pass by the old salt warehouses and impressive Art Nouveau facades. In addition, you cannot miss the beautiful pedestrian bridges, such as the Ponte de Carcavelos.
We will also pass by some of the most famous buildings in the city. We will observe the elegant white and blue tile façade of the Igreja da Misericórdia and, nearby, the Aveiro City Hall and its municipal theater.
If we have time, we will also go to the Cathedral of Aveiro, a 15th century building that is located side by side with the Museum of Santa Joana, a princess who also lived during the same period.
